This is a recipe to hold on to! I have no self control when it comes to desserts. Which is, essentially, why I started this blog. It at least gives me the appearance of an excuse. I mean, a girl has to work, right? And if my work happens to involve eating dessert all the time… well, I mean there’s really nothing else I can do about the situation. I just have to eat the dessert! By my calculations, I figure I need to try each dessert I make at least 3 different times– once when it’s fresh, once after it’s “rested” for a few hours, and once the next day. And maaaaaaaybe one more time a few days later. Just to see how it’s holding up. And it’s THIS kind of stuff, the desserts that sit in a dish like so, that are the very hardest. Cookies and cupcakes and candy are all treats I can easily pack up and send with my husband to work. Even a cake is pretty easy to dispose of. But a cobbler? I never stood a chance. First, because how do I really send this out of the house with a huge chunk missing from photographs? Obviously not. Besides that, any dessert that can be eaten warm with ice cream is my kryptonite (that and donuts… which, coincidentally, can be eaten warm with ice cream as the case may be ☺️). Especially anything so deliciously buttery and cake-y and gooey with cinnamon and warm apples in every bite. Add to that a little vanilla bean, and I really just didn’t stand a chance. Fortunately… eating dessert is my job. So, that kind of works out for me. I hope you get to enjoy this delicious classic apple cobbler sometime this summer. It’s so easy to make, all you need are a few simple ingredients and about 4 or medium apples. I like using granny smith, because I feel like the tartness really stands out beautifully in the finished product. But it’s totally up to you! You could even use a different fruit if apple isn’t your thing. Happy summer eating 🙂 Continue to Content Easy Classic Apple Cobbler Yield: 8 You won't be able to get enough of this classic cinnamon apple cobbler. This is a recipe to hold on to!
