(eh, minus the high temps and humidity). One of my favorite things about a change in season is the change in foods and recipes that we eat. Sometimes I think that summertime recipes get overshadowed during the year by the spices and pumpkin recipes of fall or the Christmastime fudge and cookies. But really, summertime potluck and BBQ dessert recipes are some of my favorites of the whole year! Homemade ice creams, light and fluffy trifles, and endless berries, cobblers, and crisps! Summer flavors are really just some of the best that the year has to offer. These Peaches and Cream Sammies combine so many of the great flavors of summer in an easy, creative, and delicious way. rolls and buns are the obvious bread choice for these cute, summery sammies. I think we can all agree that these soft and fluffy little buns are basically the official bread of summertime. Bread can sometimes feel so heavy in the heat, but the sweet and soft combo of King’s Hawaiian just seems to fit the bill no matter the weather. And, as it happens, they are perfect for grilling! You know how donuts get super extra soft and melt-in-your-mouth delicious when you eat them warm? King’s Hawaiian Bread seems to work the same way. When you heat them up on the grill, you get this incredible little bit of crisp at first bite and an undeniable melt-in-your-mouth buttery softness. Add to that a sweet cream cheese spread, juicy fresh peach slices, and a sprinkling of cinnamon– and you have yourself one amazing summer time dessert that is absolutely perfect for BBQ season. Really, words just don’t do these little sliders justice. I know I’ve already said “melt-in-your-mouth” twice, but it’s really the best description I can come up with. This whole combination of fresh fruit, sweet cream, and lightly grilled sweet bread does just that: it melts in your mouth. I can promise you: no one will be able to stop at just one! Also dreamy? The prep work. These are a breeze to pull together! Slice the peaches, whip up the cream cheese mixture (seriously, like 3 ingredients; it’s a cinch), and toss the rolls or buns on the grill after your done with the burgers and dogs! Serve them up warm and fresh, and you’ll officially win at doing summer right.
