Whether you’re looking for a filling and nutritional breakfast, a satisfying snack on the go, or some cookies for dessert, this Monster Cookie Granola has you more than covered! Chewy Peanut Butter Granola is one my very favorite all time foods– I’ll eat for a breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all the snacks and desserts in between! It’s super easy to make, tastes like cookies, and stores for a really long time. Adding M&Ms to make it taste just like my favorite cookie was only the most natural next step in the ultimate recipe development! My favorite way to eat this granola is in yogurt (I like Vanilla and Boston Cream Pie flavors best), but you could eat it plain, on ice cream, bake it into granola bars, or even bake it a little longer for a crispy granola that will be yummy in cereal! It’s only 3 simple ingredients (plus the M&Ms and Chocolate Chips, so really 5 ingredients), 8 minutes in the oven, and just a little longer than that to cool. Although my mom and sister swear by eating it warm (I’m a room temp kinda gal)! No matter how you choose to eat this stuff, you’re going to love it. And if you’re sharing… don’t expect it to stick around for long!! Continue to Content Monster Cookie Granola Print Ingredients 1/2 cup peanut butter (I like chunky) 1/2 cup honey 2 cups old fashioned oats 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips 1/2 cup mini M&Ms Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicon liner. Put the honey and the peanut butter into a medium sized microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, until peanut butter is a little melted. Whisk together until smooth (you can add a splash of vanilla here if you want, I do it about half of the time). Use a rubber spatula to mix in the oats, making sure the oats are thoroughly coated in the peanut butter/honey mixture. Mix in the M&Ms and chocolate chips. Spread the granola onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. Let cool completely. Crumble into bite sized pieces. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks (really, it lasts way longer-- but I always feel funny recommending people store anything longer than that!)
Mmm, Ashton this looks good! I LOVE monster cookies and am addicted to granola, I can’t wait to try this! Reply
What a great idea! I love PB (duh!!) and M&Ms and oatmeal – and to be honest, this looks like something I could make when I accidentally overbake cookies – just crumble them up and turn them into granola instead ๐ Reply
I am literally salivating looking/reading this post. Such a fab idea-and for breakfast?! Ahmazing! Reply
So, is your granola more crunchy or soft? I’m looking for a killer soft recipe, because I’m not a huge fan of crunchy granola ๐ Reply
It’s soft and chewy! I don’t really do crunch granola. Not homemade anyway– for some reason I only like store-bought crunchy. Probably because my brain thinks all homemade granola should be soft and chewy! (although, you CAN over-bake it and make it crunchy) Reply
Why have i never thought to make PB granola? I am currently in a massive granola phase. This is happening, asap! Thanks Asthon, love this ๐ Reply
Seriously?! Yum! Ashton, you nailed it. I love monster cookies AND granola. I still have your monster cookie dough cupcakes in my mind. ๐ Reply
Wonderful, another excuse for me to eat dessert for breakfast! Not that I need too much encouraging, mind you, but hey if it’s technically granola I’ll feel a little less guilty about it ;). Reply
I’ve made this several times now and my chocolate chips & m&ms always melt?? Do you let the peanut butter mixture cool for awhile before you mix?? It’s still yummy…just wondering! Reply
You can let the PB/honey/oat mixture cool for a bit first– it won’t change anything! I actually thought I would have this problem (melting), but haven’t yet! Sometimes I get impatient and don’t let the pb and honey heat for as long as I recommend, so it’s a little cooler to start with. You really don’t even have to heat at all– just use a little more elbow grease in mixing ๐ And I don’t move it A BIT after it’s out of the oven. I let it cool 100% completely before crumbling it up. Well… when I’m taking pictures. I really don’t care very much if it’s just for us if it’s melted a little bit! Hope that helps ๐ Reply
