What is the best birthday cake?

In my humble opinion… here are 5 AMAZING CAKES that I think are a MUST TRY for your birthday!

What makes cake moist and fluffy?

Tip #1: ALWAYS bring your cold ingredients to room temperature. Eggs, milk, sour cream, butter– anything along those lines needs to be at room temperature before mixing. There’s science to back this up, but really all you need to know is that IT WORKS.

Tip #2: Don’t be afraid of cake mix. For some reason, cake mix has this horrible reputation for producing lackluster, subpar cakes. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Learn the right way to doctor up a cake mix, and you’ll have a soft and fluffy cake better than any homemade cake. Guaranteed!

What’s a simple way to decorate a birthday cake?

If you have 9 minutes to spare, here’s a fairly in-depth video tutorial I did for my go-to cake decorating method. It’s simple, but it looks polished. And it’s easy to decorate for anyone! I add little figurines on top for my kids birthdays. Or a simple cake topper if I’m making more of a grownup cake.
