There’s no peanut butter or oatmeal. But these cookies totally think they’re monster cookies. They’ve got M&Ms and white chocolate chips. And I’ve tweaked the recipe just a little bit to make these guys taste a little more substantial than the typical cake mix cookie. ย And, they’re big… Red Velvet Monster Cookies Ingredients: (3 dozen) 1 Red Velvet cake mix 1/4 c. Butter 1/4 c. Shortening 2 Eggs 1 bag Plain M&Ms (pretzel might be good too!) 1 bag (2 cups) White Chocolate Chips Instructions: Cream together the butter and shortening. Mix in the cake mix. Fold in the M&Ms and white chocolate chips. Using an ice cream scooper, scoop mounds of the dough about 2 inches apart onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Place in the freezer for about 5 minutes, chill the remaining dough in the refrigerator. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes, until edges of the cookie are firm. You won’t need to freeze the rest of the dough to bake if you’ve put it in the refrigerator. Girl you are on one serious red velvet kick!! Love it. Those cherry m&m’s would be a yummy twist in these cookies!! Reply
I know– it’s getting to be a little overkill. But if there’s one month of the year you can do it, it’s February! Reply
I’m lovin’ all the red velvet stuff! These look great (any excuse to make a BIG cookie works for me!). Reply
I agree with Ashley–BIG cookies are better cookies. I think they’re healthier too, since you can eat a couple and overall it’s less than if you ate the whole small-cookie batch. It’s science; somehow it works. Reply
